Celestial Gems
Celestial Gems are Zemira's Belly Dance Troupe. They can be seen performing at different community events and festivals around the Gympie and surrounds area. The Troupe also travels to perform at Hafla's which are hosted by other Belly Dance Academy's. In 2006 Celestial Gems were invited to perform at Brisbane's Academy of Middle Eastern Dance annual Extravaganza. The Extravaganza is by invitation only, so it was a great achievement for the Troupe. Celestial Gems not only perform to recorded music but also to live drumming which is provided by Me-Attaa Middle Eastern Drummers. Me-Attaa also had the privillege of performing at the Extravaganza with Celestial Gems. When the 2 Troupes are combined they boast 2 husband and wife couples and a mother and daughter combination, being Anita and Terence; Karen and Luke; Vicki and Amy.
